REACHES OF THE PROJECT
Supervision and Direction of Engineering and Construction of the
Hydroelectric Project Copalar are located on the channel of the river
Grande de Matagalpa, in the geographical coordinateses 12º55'22 "of
North Latitude and 84º54'38" of West longitude, the site of the prey is
located in the Independent Region of Atlantico Sur (RAAS) and its dam
will be developed in territories of the own RAAS (46%) and of the
Departments of Matagalpa (29%) and of Boaco (25%).
The hydroelectric Project Copalar, in agreement with the CIPM study,
conforms a curtain of 132 meters of peak altitude, 900 ms of crown
length and volume of 13 million of m3; three docks (Olosica, of 33.0 ms
of peak altitude; The Trompillo, of 8.0 ms; and the Breezes, of 12.5 ms)
to close equal number of low topographic in the dam; drain controlled,
on the right margin; and house of machines to the outside, on the left
margin, equipped with 4 groups turbine (Francis) generator with capacity
of 87.5 MW each one. The deflection work composes two tunnels of 8 ms of
diameter (had with concrete) and length overall of 795 meters. The line
of communication to the substation Masaya, is considered of 2 circuits,
in 230 kV, of 185 kilometers in length.
The area of the river basin drained by the river Grande de Matagalpa
until the site of the hydroelectric project is of 7 125 km2 and, in
agreement with the hidrológico study of CIPM, the annual average
draining it is of the order of 5 550 million cubic meters. The area of
the dam that would form the prey to the elevation 195 330 meters I
determine of km2.
